Namitha(Tamil: நமிதா) was born on May 10, 1980, in Surat, Gujarat, India. Namita Mukesh Vankawala is a Punjabi-speaking girl belonging to Kapoor family. Namitha is an Indian actress, and has acted in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam & English films.

Namitha was crowned Miss Surat during the year 1998. She was a contestant in the 2001 Miss India pageant. This publicity opened up doors for her and she did a number of TV commercials like Himani cream & hand soap, Arun Ice Cream, Manikchand Gutka, and Nile herbal shampoo.

Namitha's made her acting debut in the Telugu film Sontham. Then she acted in Tamil film "Aai" and thereafter she acted in a number of films.

One of the film she played a lead role is Jaganmohini.

Jaganmohini is a Tamil language film released in 2009. It is remake of the B. Vittalacharya cult horror film of the same name. It stars Namitha, Raja and Nila in the lead roles. It is directed by N. K. Vishwanathan.[1] It was simultaneously dubbed into Telugu with the same name.
